Stage Lighting Improvement
Project led by Twin City Opera HouseAbout the project.
The Twin City Opera House was built in 1892 for live performances but was later transformed into a movie theater in the 1930s. Live events continue to be held on the stage. But the stage equipment has not kept up with the needs of the performers.
The Stage Lighting Improvement Project will assist in purchasing new stage lighting and lighting console. The upgrade will benefit regular performers like the Ohio Valley Opry country music show which has been gracing the stage for over twenty years. In addition, theater groups like the Carol Hammond Children’s Theater group will be able to utilize the upgrades as well. In order to continue having a useful space for the community.
FAO staff comments.
The COVID 19 pandemic has been especially hard on arts organizations as they have struggled to once again take center stage. Dollars to support the Twin City Opera House will provide the equipment the performers need to truly shine.
The Opera House has been a community staple in Morgan County for generations.
