Someday Is Today

Project led by Shrivers Hospice Foundation

About the project.

Someday Is Today is the Shrivers Hospice Foundation’s wish fulfillment program. Simply put, we make the dream of terminally ill hospice patients come true. From simple to complex, designing an experience that fulfills a wish for our patients is what we do. Patients may dream of going on a plane ride, attending a family reunion out of state, seeing a final game of a favorite sports team, or fishing trip with family. The Shrivers Hospice Foundation works collaboratively with the clinical team at Shrivers Hospice to plan an experience to grant a patient’s wishes, thereby creating lasting memories for patients, their loved ones, and the clinical team involved. The average patient wish costs $500. Our goal is to raise $5,000 to grant 10 additional wishes this year.

FAO staff comments.

End-of-life care is hard for everyone involved – from the patient, their loved ones, and those providing medical and emotional care. The Shrivers Hospice Foundation makes the dreams of those in hospice care come true, providing valuable memories and little moments of joy during otherwise hard times.

$500 makes these dreams come true and we can think of few better ways to support our fellow Appalachian Ohioans.

Someday Is Today has supported dreams like two brothers who wanted to see the new Philo bridge after working on the original; bringing the zoo to a recipient and her friends at the nursing home; allowing a family one last fishing trip together; allowing a woman to see a horse one last time and another to ride a horse one more time; and so many other dreams and wishes in between.
