“Little Women” The Musical

Project led by Holmes Center for the Arts

About the project.

Holmes County is an Appalachian and Amish community where prior to the inception of Holmes Center for the Arts in 2015, there was little access to the arts. Holmes Center for the Arts (HCA) provides educational and performing experiences in music, art, dance, and theatre to individuals of all economic and social backgrounds in a wholesome, family-oriented environment.

HCA is seeking to present the musical “Little Women” to Holmes and surrounding counties in July of 2021 at the Ohio Star Theater. Musicals have a way of bringing cast members together to create an extraordinary show with the side benefit of making new and sometimes unexpected friendships. With two major musicals under their belt and several smaller theatre projects, HCA is working on building theatre into a year-round program. This production will take them a step closer to that goal. The audience will be delighted by “Little Women”— a beautiful, classic tale of sisters and their love for life and each other.

FAO staff comments.

Prior to the inception of the Holmes Center for the Arts in 2015, there was little access to the arts in Holmes County. This project would support the Center in presenting “Little Women” to the community. During a time when the arts need support more than ever before, this project would allow the community to come together for something to celebrate.
