Keep Finding Your Way Outdoors

Project led by Athens Conservancy

About the project.

This project will help individuals in Athens County and beyond access and appreciate nature by encouraging people to explore the outdoors, get to know the Conservancy’s preserves and trails, and learn about the natural world.

The project will support two kiosks planned for construction at Baker Preserve and at the Cucumbertree Run Trail.

One side of each kiosk will feature a case to hold preserve and trail maps. The other side of each kiosk will display informational and educational posters on topics such as outdoor nature activities, wellness information, news about migrating birds or blooming wildflowers, upcoming events, and more.

By supporting the construction of these kiosks, this Cause Connector project will help make two of the Conservancy’s public areas more visible and accessible, contributing to individuals’ enjoyment, health and wellness, knowledge, and creativity.

FAO staff comments.

Appalachian Ohio is home to some of the most beautiful natural spaces in the world. As COVID-19 creates challenges for indoor activities, it is all the more important to suppoort Appalachian Ohioans in accessing and appreciating nature through time outdoors.
