Jasper Elementary Magic Closet
Project led by Scioto Valley Local School DistrictAbout the project.
This Cause Connector project supports the educational needs of students and educators in Pike County.
The Magic Closet at Jasper Elementary provides essential items that are necessary for students, families, and teachers. At the Magic Closet, Students and educators can access pencils, paper, sharpeners, book bags, colored pencils, markers, clothing items, and mor, to promote a safe, supportive, and secure school environment.
The need for this support has grown due to the closure of the district’s middle school building. By supporting displaced students and staff members with supplies and basic essentials for educational success, this project increases educational opportunity for students at Jasper Elementary.
FAO staff comments.
When Zahn’s Corner Middle School was forced to close due to suspected contamination, Jasper Elementary and Piketon High School were forced to adapt to 300 displaced students and educators, many of whom had to leave behind personal items and resources. The Jasper Magic closet provides an array of materials where both students and educators can access any materials or personal items they may need, creating a caring environment.
