Human Trafficking Survivor Honorarium Fund

Project led by Eyes Up Appalachia

About the project.

Those that work in anti-human trafficking efforts can’t do it effectively without input and advice from those that have survived being trafficked. Yet for so long survivors have been asked to volunteer their time to speak to communities and advise those doing the work on how to proceed in efforts. While we pay consultants to help us in other areas of our businesses, we should do the same for survivors.

This initiative was graciously funded through Cause Connector last year and it was a such success Eyes Up Appalachia hopes to continue the effort.

The funds will be used to reimburse survivors that act in an advisory capacity to Eyes Up Appalachia to better focus outreach and programming. It will also be used to offer honorariums to those that are invited to speak at public forums to better educate the community through their eyes.

FAO staff comments.

This program would allow Eyes Up Appalachia to provide honorariums to survivors of Human Trafficking who share their experience with the organization and the public to better educate the community about human trafficking in the region through their experiences, making Appalachian Ohio a safer place for us all.
