Buchanan Chapel Insulation Project

Project led by Monroe Arts Council

About the project.

The Buchanan Chapel was acquired by the Monroe Arts Council in the fall of 2019 with the plan to preserve the beautiful historic structure for multi-use opportunities for the communities of Lewisville and Woodsfield, Ohio.

While much work has already been done, including the addition of a new metal roof, new gutters, downspouts and landscape drains, along with electric and gas service, the next step is to re-insulate damaged floors to maintain a comfortable meeting area for the community.

FAO staff comments.

This project would ensure a comfortable and safe meeting place for the Monroe County community through improvements to the historic Buchanan Chapel. Safe and reliable community spaces are essential in Appalachian Ohio.
