Exploration Station

Project led by Books with Badges

About the project.

Books with Badges is planning a unique concept to build an education center on wheels called the Exploration Station. Our goal is to purchase an enclosed box trailer that can and will be utilized throughout various communities.

The Exploration Station will be equipped with WiFi, books, and various educational materials. We foresee the station having multiple uses such as:

  • Increasing literacy through the distribution of books.
  • Offering educational workshops (public safety, physical education, etc.).
  • Distributing children’s clothing and essential items.
  • Providing recreational equipment for communities.
  • Making public appearances at community events.

It is our mission at Books with Badges to encourage all children to become “Inspired Learners, Positive Thinkers and Responsible Students”. Youth education and positive development is at the top of our priority list. The addition of the Exploration Station will enable our organization to have a greater geographical outreach, increasing community engagement. This will also provide greater opportunities for the youth to positively interact with law enforcement officers and first responders.

FAO staff comments,

Books with Badges will be a one-stop shop to connect young people with a wide range of resources – books, WiFi, other educational materials, clothing and other basic needs, and recreational equipment.

And, it will do this by traveling to where young people are while providing opportunities for positive interaction with law enforcement.
