Bless Shoe

Project led by Harrison North Elementary

About the project.

Funding through this project allowed an educator at Harrison North Elementary to purchase shoes and socks for students who needed them.

FAO staff comments.

FAO staff hears stories from across our region of students who lack access to the most basic essentials, including warm shoes and socks. This project allows teachers and administrators on the ground to meet their students’ needs.

Success since funding.

Funding from this Cause Connector pilot project allowed a teacher at Harrison North Elementary to purchase 51 new pairs of warm boots and shoes, as well as 29 pairs of socks, for students in need. The project was able to ensure that students were comfortable selecting shoes and socks within the school context by presenting the give-away as a random lottery for which all students were eligible, with “winners” discretely selected on the basis of need.
