Band Instrument Replacement

Project led by Shadyside Reclamation Project

About the project.

The Shadyside High School music and marching band program have always been a point of pride in the community. In the past, it was common to have nearly 100 Shadyside Marching Band members marching at halftime each Friday night in the fall.

The program hopes to bring back those historic numbers and infuse new life into the Shadyside High School music program by purchasing and replacing band instruments.

FAO staff comments.

Music education has clear ties to improved performance in other subjects like math and science. However, we often see a lack of investment in arts and music programs in the region. This project will provide new instruments to help Shadyside students develop a lifelong love of music.
