Air Purification System

Project led by Stuart's Opera House

About the project.

This project would allow for the purchase and installation of air purification units at Stuart’s Opera House. At the suggestion of the Athens City-County Health Department, the project would increase air quality by sanitizing the air, which may include pollutants, allergens, and toxins. During the pandemic, air quality is a top concern for re-opening venues such as Stuart’s Opera House.

The proposal is to purchase and install seven rooftop units, which would cover each rooftop unit and improve air quality in all the spaces of Stuart’s Opera House, including the theater, grand lobby, kitchen, offices, education center, and conference rooms.

FAO staff comments.

During the pandemic, air quality is a top concern for re-opening venues such as Stuart’s Opera House. In a typical year, Stuart’s Opera House would host over 20,000 people! By purchasing an air purification system, Stuart’s Opera House will be one step closer to providing a safe environment for patrons, performers, and students of art and culture now and into the future.
