The God’s Hands at Work Mobile Food Pantry was started as a means to reach folks who suffer from food insecurity in itsservice area. The need has always been there, but it has increased tremendously throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Many people are unable to find transportation to come to our service center to request a food box, so we felt led to bring the food to them. God’s Hands at Work serves 5 counties, but the Mobile Food Pantry has started in Gallia and Meigs counties for now.

God’s Hands at Work makes food boxes with enough food for 3 meals a day for 7 days. This includes frozen meat, which is generally unheard of from food pantries. The meals are planned ahead of time and everything is included to prepare that meal, including recipes, if needed. Clients receive enough food items to even have for leftovers for a night or two, such as chili or vegetable soup and other meals. Right now, God’s Hands at Work has 3 locations it visits once a month.

Funding will help continue the Mobile Food Pantry services.

The God’s Hands at Work mobile food pantry provides food to the most vulnerable in Gallia and Meigs counties. Realizing that many individuals lacked the transportation to have access to local food pantries, God’s Hands at Work decided to go to them, ensuring their neighbors needs are met.
