Microfilming Local Newspapers

Project led by Noble County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society, Inc.

About the project.

The Journal and Noble County Leader, the weekly newspaper located in Noble County, Ohio, has not been microfilming newspapers due to the high cost. With this project, the Noble County Chapter of OGS would have the newspapers microfilmed. A copy of the microfilm would be placed in the Noble County Genealogy Library for the general public to view. This record is invaluable to anyone doing research on their family history, allowing them to access obituaries, birth and marriage notices, and general news in the county.

FAO staff comments.

Up-to-date public records are a vital part of a thriving community. This project would provide the resources necessary to microfilm Noble County’s weekly newspaper. Copies of the microfilm would be placed in the Noble County Genealogy Library for the general public to view and enjoy, preserving county history for generations to come.
