College Application Week

Project led by Coshocton C.A.R.E.S.

About the project.

Coshocton C.A.R.E.S. (Community Action Resources to Educate Students) provides each of their three county high schools and career center with a week full of college and career opportunities for seniors. Their organization promotes college/career opportunities through teachers displaying their alma maters, college representatives visiting, college sweatshirt day, daily college/career fact announcements, daily trivia about a certain college/career for students to research, and prize drawings of college/career items. The week culminates with College Application Day in which students are encouraged, with assistance if needed, to complete and submit at least one application to a college or career center. This project helps Coshocton C.A.R.E.S. provide their College Application Week and ultimately inspire and assist students in developing their post-secondary aspirations.

FAO staff comments.

Coshocton CARES College Application Week provides students with support, resources, and information to navigate their options after high school graduation. For many students, applying to college and scholarships can be an intimidating process, especially for first generation college students. College Application Week provides students with the tools to feel competent and prepared as they explore their future.
