The Community Foundation of Ohio’s Electric Cooperatives is proud of their five-county sponorship of Dolly Parton’s Imagination (DPIL), which together with the Ohio Governor’s Imagination Library (OGIL), provides age-appropriate books to children from birth through age five. The Community Foundation of Ohio’s Electric Cooperatives is the DPIL/OGIL affiliate in Allen, Highland, Mercer, Seneca, and Van Wert Counties.  Since March 2020, they have enrolled 5,064 children in the program.  Your generous support toward the DPIL/OGIL children’s literacy Highland County Initiative will help maintain and expand outreach to increase the number of children enrolled and receiving books – there are 1,213 registrants in Highland County, to date.

Evidence shows that focus on early literacy skills forms the foundation for later academic achievement. Dolly Parton Imagination Library programs provide books to our youngest neighbors from birth to their 5th birthday monthly to make sure all children have access to their own books. The program also provides information to families to make sure their reading time with children is that much more enriching.
