Love Fest Back to School Community Support

Project led by God's Confident Sons and Daughters

About the project.

Gifts of Love was started 7 years ago with one goal in mind- To be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ in the Monroe County community. To God’s Confident Sons and Daughters that meant feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, and loving strangers.

Every year a group of volunteers get together and put on Love Fest at our city park in Woodsfield Ohio. It is a free event that anyone can come to. The majority of the people that attend and receive help are located within Monroe County Ohio.

The goal is to love everyone and most importantly reach out to those that feel unloved, this includes providing free food, fun times for the children, worship music sets a wonderful atmosphere, there is a local Church that does the ice cream, and free school supplies are distributed. Most recently a hygiene tent was added which has shown to be needed and welcomed by the community. This year there will be a prayer tent for those wishing to receive prayer as there has been an influx in people asking for prayer.

This event impacts 60 to 100 families yearly in Monroe County. Most families are lower income and can not always afford school supplies and daily hygiene items.

FAO staff comments.

Community events like this one support families by offering a free, safe environment to have their needs met. By providing basic needs and fun activities, this program brings together the entire community regardless of who is receiving or providing assistance.
