Brochure for Locally Based Art Gallery Entryway Mural

Project led by Majestic Galleries

About the project.

Majestic Galleries, a nonprofit art gallery in Nelsonville, is seeking funding to design, develop and publish 500 copies of a brochure describing the genesis, the artist, and the images selected for a mural, in-process and supported by an Ohio Arts Council Resilience Grant, that will grace the entryway wall of Majestic Galleries in Nelsonville.

Local artist and muralist Terry Fortkamp has been selected to collect and collage locally-based imagery to paint the black-white-and-gray mural on the wall, 29′ long and 9’3″ high tapering to 8’3″. Showcasing local landmarks, community events, and historical accounts, the brochure and mural will show the city of Nelsonville as imaged by the residents of Nelsonville themselves. Visible from the streets in public square at all hours of the day, the mural will introduce Nelsonville and its residents to gallery visitors from outside the community as well. It is slated for completion in June 2022.
