Video Game Console

Project led by Jackson City Library

About the project.

Jackson City Library hosts a weekly Roblox Video Game Night for children, a Board Game Night for teens and adults on Tuesday Evenings. The library has a good turnout of children for the event. Cause Connector funding will support the purchasing of a video game console to be used on the makerspace television supplementing the PC’s that are currently in use. By creating a space where children want to be, the library is fostering a nurturing environment filled with creativity and exploration.

FAO staff comments.

Most people think of their public library solely as a source for books. However, libraries have many services and programs that can help children or the people who care for them, including local game nights! Video games can improve children’s learning, health, and social skills in the right setting.
